White Kidney Bean Extract

White Kidney Bean Extract

White kidney bean extract was the topic of a recent episode of Dr. Oz discussing "Fat Busters." The popular TV doctor said he found the research on white bean extract "absolutely compelling," and he was "confident in recommending it," especially for people trying to control their carbohydrate intake. His references were obviously for the studies behind Phase 2 Carb Controller, since it is the first clinically studied white bean extract. Featured on the show was fitness expert, Lisa Lynn, who explained that the extract from white beans was so potent that "carbs can't be broken down into sugars." She also described white bean extract as effective, and safe. Dr. Oz explained, through an animated illustration, how Phase 2 "Paralyzes the enzymes that digest starch," so they pass through the intestinal system without being fully digested. For more information on the science behind Phase 2 Carb Controller white bean extract, click on the clinical studies tab on this site.

Dr. Oz Recommends Chia Seed

Many of us were introduced to chia as those cute little decorative plants called Chia Pets. But chia is also simply good, pure food and is also available as dietary supplements.

And it even now has the nod of approval by celebrity doctor, Dr. Mehmet Oz, who recognized it as one of his top three brain-boosting foods. Chia seeds, he noted, are a great source of Omega 3 EFAs, so important to nourishing the structure of the brain. Plus these powerhouse grains contain more antioxidants than blueberries, which are the top common berry for antioxidant content. He pointed out that chia seeds "help with the communication between cells in the brain." The signal he is sending is clear: incorporate chia seeds as food -- and as supplements -- in your life and your brain will signal back its gratitude. Look for Benexia® brand Chia in Renew Life Chia seeds, or Chia Goodness cereal at your favorite health food store.

And chia pets still make a whimsical decorative element for your home or office!

You don't have to give up carbs to lose weight

People trying to control their weight are told to stay away from starchy carbs like rice, pasta, potatoes and bread. These limitations are difficult to stick with because we all love these tasty comfort foods and find them hard to pass up.

A recent Today Show segment featured products made with "resistant starches," meaning starches that are resistant to digestion which reduces their caloric impact. What wasn't mentioned d was the negative effects on flavor and texture that these resistant starches have. That's why they're not used much anymore.

However, new research on an all natural ingredient called Phase 2 Carb Controller shows that it's safe and effective at reducing the digestion and absorption of starch calories without effecting taste or texture. Phase 2 changes dietary starches into resistant starches, deliciously.

You can find Phase 2 in a variety of supplements, including Natrol's Carb Intercept.

To read more about the GI and its benefits, check out my article,Understanding the Glycemic Index.
